In summer, the open landscape glows with soft golden light, while fall brings rich color, texture, and warmth to every corner. When water levels allow (typically in fall) - miles of sandy shoreline emerge, creating a beach-like setting. A beautiful wood and metal bridge stretches across the water. With lake views, open fields, shoreline access, and woodland elements all in one location, it’s easy to create a gallery that feels diverse without ever leaving the area.

This gorgeous field located right behind the church in Eagle River is an easy go-to! A few wildflowers can pop up everywhere through the warm months, and turns to pretty golden grass in the Fall.
Despite the name, there isn’t actually a bridge here. Burnt Bridge is named after a historic bridge that burned in the early 1900's. Now a winding creek meanders through open marshland surrounded by tall grasses, scattered boulders, and towering pines. The combination of water, woodland, and sweeping views creates endless variety within a relatively small area, making it feel like several locations in one.

Thunder Lake Wildlife Area offers a peaceful setting with quiet gravel roads, open fields, wildflowers (typically Aug & Sept), and beautiful natural scenery. It's a perfect choice for families, couples, maternity, and senior sessions looking for a relaxed, nature-filled backdrop.

Wander scenic boardwalks, cross the iconic stepping stones above the falls, and discover countless peaceful overlooks, rocky riverbanks, and hidden woodland corners along the way. At the end of the trail, you'll be rewarded with the breathtaking power of the massive cascading falls, creating one of the most dramatic backdrops in the Northwoods.
